VG Cup 2027 Season I

16 Masters and 1 Junior made up the first League Cup of the 2027 competitive season, but one player stood out amongst the field: Tim Roerich, who went undefeated in Swiss and Top Cut with his Mega Staraptor Sand team. The only player who managed to take a game against him was Jeremy Gilchrist in the Finals set, but Gholdengo and Milotic proved to be excellent checks to his Mega Salamence.

Nathan Steward’s “Singing Bugs” carried him through a sluagh of dragons: Hydrapple with support from Mega Malamar, Mega Salamence with Scarf Baxcalibur, and Mega Garchomp Z all fell to Perish Song, but Tim’s Staraptor pressured too quickly, resulting in Nathan’s only lost games.

Rounding out Top Four, Bryce Hoenig brought a team of speedy Pokémon to flank Mega Blastoise and defeated Jeremy in Swiss, but Raichu wasn’t able to strike twice through his sunny skies.
