November GLC
November’s Gym Leader Challenge tournament featured 10 players, all Masters, over four rounds of Swiss. Between those 10 players, there were 8 unique types played, with the two duplicates being Grass and Fighting.
Of the Grass-type decks, Raven is sticking to her Turbo Wo-Chien deck built around the Cherrim/Eldegoss engine, which can be seen as a leaner, Stage 1 version of the “boomer Grass” Rillaboom/Venusaur engine. Dorian played the new Vileplume from PFL with two energy efficient attacks, using the MEG Shuckle as a means of healing for extra damage.
brooke and Trevor both played the big basic Fighting deck (“RDT”) with subtle differences to an overall 62.5% win rate, but it was Bloom who overcame the arguable best-deck-in-format in round 3 punishing Marshadow with Mimikyu and taking advantage of brooke’s prized Escape Rope.
Despite Bloom’s triumph, it was Zack, taking notes from October’s GLC winner Avery who remained the only undefeated player at the end of the evening giving Dragon a consecutive win!
