September GLC
It’s not just the start of the new official competitive circuit! Tonight marked the kickoff of the 2027 Gym Leader Challenge series for Bloomfield Pokémon, as well! Players vie for Badges in order to earn the coveted title of Gym Leader Challenge Champion and the right to play in the end-of-season Badgeholder Invitational.
There are three ways for players to earn a badge:
- Go 3-0 at a GLC Friendly
- Get 1st Place at a GLC Friendly (if there are no 3-0’s)
- Win 6 matches with one type across multiple GLC Friendlies
Tonight’s event featured two Badge earners in Invitational Champion Bloom R. and Avery M., both going undefeated with the eponymous “Pittsburgh Purple” archetype that has run roughshod at Full Grip Games. Rounding out Top Four were Charles S. playing a variant of the “Proximity” Colorless list featuring Swellow and Silvally, and Brit D. on a spin of the classic Darkness archetype with Toxtricity for acceleration.
